If the amount of money consumers spend on hair care products annually is any indication, most people are concerned about the appearance of their hair and strive to attain beautiful, healthy and stylish locks. In fact, most will go to any lengths to achieve their desired look. From professional salon treatments to over-the-counter serums, hair care is a big business.
The only problem is that while many people are buying the right hair care products for their hair, they forget to follow basic hair care regimens that will guarantee the health and beauty of their tresses. Additionally, many are also causing needless damage to their hair by participating in unhealthy hair care behavior.
So, what should you do to make sure that your hair stays healthy, shiny and strong?
To avoid all hair care disasters, follow these 10 absolute don’ts of great hair care.
Hair care don’ts
1. Avoid unprofessional and over-the-counter hair care products whenever you can. Many of these only offer false hopes and promises.
2. Do not cut your own bangs. Leave all of your cutting needs, even bangs, to your hair care professional.
3. Avoid excessive sun, chlorine and salt water during the summer months. Excessive exposure can cause severe damage that is irreversible even if you use the best hair care products.
4. Do not use clarifying hair care products on your tresses more than one time per week. They can strip hair of moisture and essential oils.
5. Do not visit a hair care salon without first getting a referral from someone you can trust. Choosing a salon based on an advertisement or sale alone is very risky.
6. Do not purchase hair color that comes in a box.
7. Never stick with an outdated look because you are afraid of looking different. Styles change for a reason. Ask your hair care professional to bring you into this decade with a new style.
8. Do not straighten your hair with a clothes iron. C’mon, this was so over in the 70s. We have straightening irons that won’t damage your hair for this now. Look in the hair care isle.
9. Don’t brush your hair or put too much tension on it while it is still wet. This will cause breakage. Also, do not wear tight styles such as corn rows for extended periods of time unless you have ethnic hair.
10. Never use sun-lightening products such as lemon juice or over-the-counter hair care products designed to lighten hair with the sun unless you want a very short hair cut in the future.
In the end, hair care is a very individualized and personal thing. Feel free to add your own flair and style to your hair care routine, but remember to include hair care principles that will benefit your hair and avoid those that damage it.

When going over room setup and audio / visual requirements with a foreign logistics person, make sure you do it in advance of the presentation (hopefully several times), and have a bilingual person there to ensure that both you and the logistics person are on the same wavelength.
Be in the room very early on the day of the speaking engagement (at least two hours before the public enters the room) and, if possible, have your bilingual helper there too. Terms that are familiar to most English speaking speakers are difficult to translate into a foreign language.
One good idea is to take pictures of the various items you may need (overhead projector, white board, etc.) and carry them with you to the event.
When you want something, all you have to do is show the picture which, when you are desperate in a foreign country, is worth a million words.

Shingles, commonly known as the herpes zoster virus is a late manifestation of the chicken pox virus known as varicella zoster.
Although Shingles affects millions of adults by the time they reach 80, it is not uncommon for younger people to develop the virus.
When the virus activates it travels along nerve fibers, usually breaking out on one side of the body into small blisters called vesicles.
Within a few days the blisters rupture forming scabs. shingles is associated with severe pain, itching, redness, numbness, and the development of a rash.
Shingles can affect the eyes. This is due to the fact that the eyes are connected to nerves that may be infected with the virus. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to minimize the symptoms and reduce the risk of complications that may compromise vision.
Then there is Neuralgia.
(POST HERPETIC NEURALGIA or PHN )
This occurs after the outbreak and in most cases is more painful
than the outbreak itself. the nerve endings become sensitive to touch and this can be extremely painful.
It is therefore important to treat shingles as soon as
the initial outbreak is identified.
If correct treatment is used, the outbreak can clear without
becoming a painful neuralgia condition.
always use natural formulations, prefereably, a pure blend of essential oils extracted from plants. This ensures there is no damage to the body and with the correct formula, the outbreak can be cleared immediately.
An excellent company who have been in business many years,
and come highly recommended are Healing Natural Oils or amoils.com.
Preventing shingles is important too, and this can be done by
choosing a formula which is used as a daily maintanance and
will combat the virus internally.
Nobody should ever have to suffer shingles, but with the correct knowledge, an outbreak can be a very short affair.

Basics of Home Loans
Three fundamental pieces of knowledge for obtaining and maintaining a home loan include the application, rates, and repayment habits.
Home Loan Application Process - Filling out home loan applications can be time consuming, and overly detailed. Before beginning, get yourself organized by finding all of the paperwork you will need to complete your application. Once you have everything located and in front of you, you’ll find the application process to go very smoothly.
Rates Change - Keep an eye on home loan rates for major changes, particularly changes of the downward version. Refinancing is inexpensive in comparison to the amount of money you can save if you obtain the right low interest home loan. Developing a good relationship with your mortgage broker may result in him or her calling you when the rates drop!
On Time Payments - There is nothing that can hurt or help your credit rating more than your payment habits on your home loan. Make payments on time and your credit score will raise quickly. Alternatively, pay late and you’ll do long term damage that is difficult to repair.
Quick Home Mortgages Online - Safe
Why should you shop for home mortgages online?
1) Obtain mortgage quotes from a reputable lender and your information will be secure. Don’t check with every no-name mortgage company online, stick with names you can trust, as their online security will be top notch.
2) Fast Processing - Mortgage companies who operate online aren’t bound by the same home loan processes as large local banks, and can process applications faster.
3) Low Rates - With so many lenders from which to choose from, online mortgage brokers and home loan specialists are bound to find a program that’s right for your budget and home loan needs.
How to Compare Various Home Loans
You’ve heard the saying “You can’t compare apples to oranges”, right? When you’re shopping for a home loan, you need to make comparisons among the same types of loans. When you compare a 30 year fixed home loan with 7% interest to an adjustable rate mortgage with 3.2% interest, you’re comparing apples to oranges- unless you know the specifics to each type of loan.
1)Loan Term - The term of a loan is the length of time you will be repaying on the loan Many mortgages are 30 year terms, but some are shorter, 10, 15, and 20 year terms are common. The longer the term of your loan, the lower you pay each month, but the higher you’ll pay in interest!
2)Interest Rate - An adjustable interest rate is one that can change from time to time, while a fixed rate interest means it remains the same for the entire term of your loan. To compare a fixed rate with an ARM loan, use an online mortgage calculator (they’re free!) to compare your future payments as well as current payments.
3) Closing Costs - There are many things that are factored into closing costs, including lenders, closing agents and attorneys. Choose a lender with the fewest junk fees or a lender that pays for your closing costs out of their revenues.
Home Mortgage Prepayment
It’s not often that people stay in their home for thirty years. A thirty year mortgage probably seems like forever to most borrowers! Since no one would want to pay a mortgage forever, there are a few tricks that can save you a lot of money:
1)Make use of free home mortgage calculators online to see how much of a difference one or two extra payments on your mortgage will make on your amortization schedule. Sometimes, as little as $20 extra on each payment can reduce the term of your loan a year or more! Many people never actually take advantage of paying one additional payment per year in order to shorten their 30 year mortgage term by up to ten years- because they have not educated themselves on prepayment.
2) You can shorten your mortgage term by up to 20 years if you’re able to make double payments. While it may seem that you should only be able to reduce your mortgage payment in half by doubling your payments, the fact is the extra payment goes towards the principal and saves you interest, so it reduces the amount owed much faster than if you only send the minimum payment each month.
Consolidating Home Loans to Save Money
If you have a refinance loan and your original home loan, you may want to consolidate them into a single loan. This may sound complicated, but should be a painless process for you.
Find all of your current home loan information, including account numbers, bank name, initial loan amount, date of the loan, and any other documents you’ve obtained through the loan processes. Find out how much equity you have in your home, to determine whether or not refinancing and consolidating your second mortgage is feasible. Finally, go to your mortgage specialist to get a more specific and accurate portrayal of the options that are available to you.

Whenever someone asks me for suggestions on EZ to plant trees
and shrubs for the Doylestown Pa. area, I always begin with
Arborvitae.
Arborvitae are commonly used evergreen shrubs or trees useful in
urban areas where low maintenance and durability is needed. Many
cultivars with forms such as being globed in shape, columnar, or
narrow pyramidal, tend to be near buildings, doors, and
walkways. Other forms which are larger are used for screens and
buffers that are planted in rows. The form of arborvitae is
small, medium, or large depending on the cultivar. Some reach
50′, others only 3′. Most prefer full sun to partial sun.
Planting in dense shade conditions should be avoided. A moist ,
well drained, loamy soil in full sunlight are ideal conditions
for growing healthy arborvitae. These plants will tolerate
rocky, clay, urban conditions of heat drought and pollution. The
most important pest we have is bagworms which must be controlled
to prevent complete defoliation. Some cultivars have multiple
leaders which also prove to be a detraction for the plant.
Pruning out multiple leaders in some cultivars is a simple
remeady. Our most popular Arborvitae is the Emerald Green
arborvitae. Many people prefer to spell them Arbor Vitae . It is
a bright light green color and narrow in shape. It makes a
distinctive and impressive natural fence. It is easy to grow
,plant, and keep in shape.
The Hetz Midget arborvitae is a dwarf globe variety. This is a
good choice for along walkways and gardens. This is a tough
plant that is easy to install and not going to cost a lot. It
will maintain its color in the winter and will withstand snow
loads well. We carry these plants in 2 and 3 gal. pots. The
prices on these dwarfs vary from $15 to $30 depending on size
and quanity ordered.
Another small arborvitae that we grow in pots is the Rheingold
arborvitae. This is a small globe shaped plant that has a golden
green cast to it in the summer and a bronze winter color. We
also have the American Arborvita known as “Tiny Tim”.This
arborvita grows in zone 2 - 7. Its is a needled evergreen in the
Cupressaceae Family. It will grow in height from a half a foot
to 1 foot tall. Its spread will be about 1 to 1.5 feet. This is
a plant that requires little work. Selecting quality arborvitae
for the home landscape : When you get to the nursery or garden
center where you will buy your arborvitae, pick out the
healthiest, most robust plants that have no evidence of disease
or insect damage. The potting medium should be moist, but not
wet, and the roots should well dispersed in the medium.
Arborvitae that have roots growing from the drainage holes or
circling the top of the pot are less desirable. Many people
choose to buy arbs from a mail order company, which is perfectly
acceptable. However, realize that most woody plants purchased
from mail order catalogs will be shipped dormant and bare root,
that is, without any soil attached to the root system. Such
plants may be smaller in size because of the expense of
shipping. It is important to plant such material immediately
upon arrival. Generally it is best to purchase one-year-old
material from mail order companies since this material is more
vigorous and will transplant better. The larger material that is
offered is often composed of the less vigorous plants held over
from previous years. Most large sized arbs are balled and
burlaped. Don’t buy any arbs bare rooted over 3′ tall. Any plant
larger should be balled and burlaped.
We have thousands of arbs and always have hundreds ready for you
to pickup. From 2′ to 15′ we have inventory balled and burlaped.
Don’t worry about driving long distances to get to us. We are
easy to get to near Phila., on a major road, Rt. 313 in
Fountainville Pa.. We want to move our stock and will make sure
that you go home a happy camper. If you are coming from a long
distance, we will give away free inventory that is surplus to
our needs. One of our fields is being converted into ball and
soccer fields and work will begin Nov. 25 2005. Stock in this
field will go cheap. We will stay open til the last dog dies or
we sell out. I think we have more stock than what we possibly
can sell. You can see our web sites at:

An accessible Web site is easily approached, easily understood, and useable for all. There are accessibility standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium, which all sites should adhere to as much as possible.
Web site owners should be aware of accessibility standards, because most designers and developers often ignore them. It is a waste of your investment to develop a great site that many Web surfers may not even be able to use.
While personal sites can get away with more innovative technologies, most commercial sites should not go overboard. If you do business internationally, or with customers who are located anywhere but in a city, the user’s bandwidth is a big issue. If it takes longer than a few seconds to open a document from your site, users are likely to move on, to another site that will work faster. Sites that receive a large amount of traffic will also save on hosting fees by keeping downloads to a minimum.
Not all browsers are created equal. Check your site for compatibility on as many computers as you can. It’s wise to consider that some people don’t allow JavaScript, cookies, images, or Flash and some people use text readers. By viewing your site on many machines, you often will find issues with the way your site operates or looks.
Search engine spiders will have an easier time indexing your pages when the links are standard HTML text. Text links also improve your positioning on search engines. If the text in your site is within a graphic or a Flash movie, most search engines won’t even be able to pick it up, and you may never show up for the phrases you wish to be found for.
If your site takes away the ability for a visitor to utilize certain browser functions, you will lose more than you will gain. Removing tool bars, not allowing text resize, and functions that automatically redirect a user to another page and then do not allow for the “back” function, are all tactics to avoid.
These are but a few examples of accessibility issues. Ultimately, a Web site can never be accessible enough. Awareness is step one.

East India, with a complex history that includes long periods of European colonization, has developed culinary traditions that reflect centuries of tradition and a variety of cultural influences. In addition to the various cultures that have been assimilated into the cuisine of the region, the geography also has influenced the development of the culinary traditions of East India, as has the climate.
Portuguese and Spanish explorers first brought the spices of India to widespread European use in the 15th and 16th centuries, inspiring European political and economic colonization of the area. The famous British East India Company and the Dutch East India Company, both established in the 17th century, were companies specifically created for the production and sale of a variety products from the region, including spices. Naturally, as the native populations interacted with the European peoples, including through forced service in their homes, a European influence came to affect local cuisines.
The coastal area ensures that seafood is an important part of the East Indian diet. The wide variety of fish is served in many ways. Naturally, the area is well known for delectable fish curries, but seafood is also served steamed and delicately spiced, fried with spices that serve to enhance rather than to mask flavors, and is used to created snacks and appetizers like pakora, served with chutneys and other dipping sauces. Because of the prominence of seafood in the cuisine, and a climate conducive to the growth of a variety of vegetables and fruits, as well as the culinary influences of past Portuguese and British colonization and the Muslim population, the food of East India tends to be of a lighter sort. Spices are used with a lighter hand, preferred cooking methods are often of the sort that enhance natural flavors and encourage the subtle blending of flavors, such a stir frying, steaming and boiling. A moist, rainy climate allows for the production of rice, which functions as a basic element of most meals.
In addition to savory fish dishes, East Indian cuisine is known throughout the world for the quality of its sweets, with many of its confections having deep roots in Hindu culture. Many religious ceremonies and celebrations have specific confections associated with them, and include ritual offerings of sweets to gods and to the poor. As with many East Indian dishes, the sweets of this region tend to be less dense, lighter, making them a bit more appealing to westerners than some of the very heavy, ultra-sweet confections of other regions in India. In addition to candies and other similar dessert style sweets, the region is known for its fine cakes, which have a distinctly European influence, as does the preference for tea as a beverage.
East Indian cuisine has a distinct character that sets it apart from the cuisines of other parts of India. With coastal areas that made seafood a staple and a climate that made a variety of fresh foods readily available, came a tendency towards letting the natural, fresh flavors of foods take center stage in the cuisine. European explorers who were attracted to Eastern shores contributed their own culinary style to the region, as did Muslim settlers, resulting in the amazing combination of cultures that created the unique flavors of East Indian cuisine.

Closet organizers have come a long way in recently years. There’s more to them nowadays than just a shelf above a horizontal pole.
Concepts in closet organization have gone from simple home improvement to statements regarding lifestyle. And with the best use of space in mind, it is possible to get all your gear in one place, and keep it handy and orderly.
Admit it, weather going out on the town, preparing for that weekend romp or simply gearing up for work, you get a certain thrill selecting your outfit from a well organized display. What, this doesn’t describe your closet? These closet organizer tips will help.
One of the challenges with crafting any kind of closet storage space is that your needs may change. Most wood shelving is expensive, and it usually can’t expand as your storage needs evolve.
To make the most of your closet organization efforts, you first need to know the potential uses of your space and of the things you want to store. You may be able to use the space you have more efficiently.
Start with a general inventory. This can help you determine your space needs.
Do you and/or your spouse have too many clothes, shoes and other accessories? Are your dressers full and there just doesn’t seem to be enough space in your closet?
Analyze your storage needs, inspect available spaces. Your situation isn’t as bad as it seems.
Closet kits today offer enough flexibility that you can change the design to suit your changing needs, which allows you to customize the closet to fit individual needs and lifestyles.
Or simply tame your piles with pretty colored baskets in all shapes and sizes.
Shoes used to be something that sat on the floor, then came simple shoe racks and shelves. This was great for organization and more protection for expensive shoes.
Closet organizers use the space in your closet that doesn’t ordinarily get used, it expands your storage.
Some organizers simply hang the from the closet rod and store folded clothes, shoes and more on the shelves and in the mesh compartments.
Different components allow you to easily organize and add storage space to your closet; arrange it countless ways and reconfigure it as often as you like.
Telescoping rods and expanding shelves are so quick and easy, you can reconfigure your closet organizer system at any time.
With a hamper basket you have a dedicated spot within the closet for dirty clothes which will help anyone’s room - especially kids rooms - remain a little more organized.
Also consider ventilation: closets - especially those with
hampers - need some air circulation to remain fresh. You might also consider disposable air fresheners designed for use in the closet.
Organize your closet by season, work, weekend or his and hers clothing.
There are enough options on the market to go from basic to one-of-a-kind with add-on accessories such as shoe storage racks, extra closet shelving, wire baskets, and tie & belt organizers to fit your specific needs.
Grow your system as your needs expand and relish that “Glad to get dressed” feeling!

Recently the news carried the story that a researcher had discovered that taking vitamin E at a level of 400IU or more increases the risk of death. (Jan 2005, Annals of Internal Medicine) I was immediately suspicious because I have studied the scientific literature on vitamin E for over two decades and have come to the exact opposite conclusion. Hundreds of studies have shown the beneficial effects of vitamin E on numerous modern diseases including cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, claudication, arthritis, fibrocystic breast disease, epilepsy, infertility, intelligence…you name it. This evidence comes from carefully controlled clinical trials and meta-nalyses and is published in peer-reviewed publications. So what gives with this new “scoop?” Why did it receive the headlines while all the other studies aren’t?
Actually this new information is not new at all. The researcher merely investigated mortality statistics from existing studies and came to a conclusion that people should not take 400IUs of vitamin E (exactly what I have been taking for years and recommending to others) or they may die. In effect he wrote an editorial on other people’s work. That is not science.
Although the writer conceded his conclusions may only apply to those who are already seriously ill and not to healthy people, that is the only balance given in the article. He examined 19 different vitamin E studies performed by others including almost 140,000 people. Surely it would seem statistical meaning would emerge out of that. But as science (and life) always goes, the truth is in the details…details too often left out.
For example in one of the 19 studies, large doses of zinc were also given and this can create a copper deficiency which can lead to heart and other diseases. Although a copper supplement was given, it was in the form of cupric oxide, which is poorly absorbed in the gut.
In another of the studies the group being given the vitamin E were much sicker to begin with, including larger numbers of smokers and higher numbers of those with coronary artery disease and high blood pressure. Of course there will be greater mortality in such a group, but it would have nothing to do with the vitamin E they were taking.
Another study was skewed by the fact that participants were also taking a synthetic form of beta-carotene, which has been linked to increased lung cancer and liver damage. You can’t give vitamin E and synthetic beta-carotene to a group and blame mortality on vitamin E!
Finally, not one of the studies used the natural form of vitamin E. Vitamin E is a mixture of tocopherols: alpha, beta, gamma and delta. But only alpha- tocopheral was used. Not only that, but the synthetic isomeric form, D, L-alpha tocopherol was used in many of the studies. Natural vitamin E exists in only the D isomeric form. The synthetic L form is not produced in nature and may even interfere with the benefits of the natural D form.
The gamma-tocopherol has many proven life-lengthening and disease preventing benefits but when high levels of alpha-tocopherol are consumed these benefits may be cancelled by a kind of biochemical interference. Therefore, whatever gamma-tocopherol was being consumed in the diet may have been cancelled out by the supplements in the study.
When one is done looking at the details behind the headlines there remains no basis for suggesting that high levels of natural vitamin E are dangerous, but rather, when considering the entire body of scientific evidence, there is significant reason for believing exactly the opposite! So much for headlines.
Perhaps more important than the misleading nature of the story is the reason why it would receive top billing. News organizations seem to be fiendishly rubbing their hands together just waiting for any little tidbit that could debunk the value of supplements or a natural approach to health. (They receive huge advertising dollars from the pharmaceutical and other medical industries.) Of course the medical community is right there ready to pile on as well. They have a vested interest in maintaining the popular mindset that disease is just one of those things that happen, that people are victims of disease, and doctors are needed for repair. The notion that supplements, food, and lifestyle can prevent or cure disease threatens their grip and profitability.
Never mind that modern health care is the greatest threat to life and health, killing more people than any other cause. (Wysong e-Health Letter: June 19, 2002) That’s not worthy of news, but scaring people away from supplements based upon a flawed study is. We do not live in a rational world.
Is vitamin E supplementation necessary? No, not if you are eating a varied diet of raw, organic, natural foods, living out of doors, exercising daily and are not subject to any workplace or other environmental pollutants. If that is not how you are living, then 400IU of a natural vitamin E tocopherol mix is a very good idea. It is logical since it replaces what would be present in a natural raw diet and helps offset modern toxins, pollutants and stresses. It is also supported by a mountain of good scientific research.

Borrowing money has become more and more popular in the UK over recent years, and this is partly due to the fact that it has become far easier to borrow money. The rising popularity of consumer finance has also been aided by the wide variety of deals and the low interest rates available these days. Secured loans have become very popular with those that own property, and this type of finance deal offers affordability and excellent value for money. Secured loans are available from a wide pool of lenders, which means that consumers have plenty of choice when it comes to selecting and applying for secure loans.
The amount available to borrow with secured loans is dependant upon the amount of equity available in your property, which means the amount of the market value minus any loans or mortgage outstanding on it. There are many benefits available with secured loans, and you will find that this type of finance is one of the most cost effective options available. With secured loans you can look forward to far lower interest rates than most standard, unsecured loans, and this is because there is less of a risk to the lender since the loan is secured against an asset.
Secured loans also offer far high borrowing levels than unsecured loans, although the amount available to borrow will depend in your equity. However, you could find yourself eligible to borrow tens of thousands of pounds with secured loans, which could prove invaluable if you are looking to raise a large amount of finance for just about any purpose. The repayment period with secured loans is also far longer than with unsecured loans, which means that your monthly repayments will be far lower.
The other great thing about secured loans is that they are far more easily accessible to those with poor credit than a standard, unsecured loan. This is because the lender has to take less of a risk with secured loans, as they are secured against an asset, and the lender is therefore usually more willing to consider those with bad credit for this type of finance. Bad credit secured loans are available at really reasonable rates, which means that you can enjoy lower repayment terms even if your have a tarnished credit history.
One of the most common reasons for taking out secured loans is to consolidate other loans and credit. Many people pay out a fortune each month on a selection of high credit loans and cards. With secure loans you can wrap up all of that expensive credit in to one convenient loan, and you can then pay just one lot of interest and make just one repayment each month. You can use bad credit secured loans to wrap up your other more costly credit, and even to pay of some debts, and this can go some way toward improving and repairing your credit.
Secure loans are widely available online, and by browsing and booking via the Internet you can quickly ascertain which of these loans best suits you in terms of conditions and interest rates. It is always wise to compare the various deals available on secured loans in order to check that you are getting a competitive deal and rate.
Whatever you are looking to fund or purchase, secured loans make it more affordable and more achievable. If you are using a secure loan in order to consolidate your other loans and credit, you can look forward to far lower repayments each month as well as an overall reduction in the amount of interest you pay. Finding, comparing and applying for secured loans is simple when you harness the power of the Internet, and you can rally speed up the process as well as benefit from total convenience and ease. You are also more likely to find really competitive deals on secured loans when you look online, giving you an even better chance of getting great value on your borrowing.
If you find yourself in need of a fairly large sum of money and you have equity in your property, it makes sense to look into the range of secured loans available. With secured loans you don’t have to worry about unmanageable repayments, because the lower interest rates and longer repayment periods on offer mean that your monthly repayments will be far lower than those of an unsecured loan. Most secured loans can be processed quite quickly these days, and when you apply online you can complete your secured loan application from the comfort of your own home.
With such great deals on offer when it comes to secured loans, this is by far the most cost effective option open to property owners. With many people sitting on large sums of money that is tied up in their property, paying extortionate fees on some unsecured loans makes little sense when you could enjoy far better rates with secured loans, which simply enable you to unlock the money that would otherwise be tied up in your property.
