Throughout Australia, we appreciate our horse racing and we thought we’d disclose Aussie’s largest and most renowned event, The Melbourne Spring Festival. Rest back & savour as we bring you through Melbourne’s biggest race in Australia, featuring Victoria’s stars of Melbourne’s Turf & of course the trainers with jockeys at the center of this incredible industry. This is Victoria’s very best thing for punters to get their money’s worth. This is by far the biggest horse racing event in Australia.

Once we finally get beyond Derby Day and by god it is a massive event, we hype ourselves for the day that stops a nation, The Melbourne Cup. Ever since the commencement of the race, the stories of Archer being paced down from Sydney to compete the Cup & who won the first two runnings of it to boot, Australians have been engaged. Victorian’s even have a bank holiday to celebrate!

The love experience that was Makybe Diva & the Aussie population was something to be admired. Makybe was why race goers went to the track. To win 3 Melbourne Cups in progression is something else that we seemingly will not ever happen again. What about the awe Aussies got when Dermot Weld came out & took our Cup home to Ireland in ‘93 with Vintage Crop. Or when he did it again in ‘02 with Media Puzzle. What about Sheila Laxon conquering with Ethereal, or the acclaimed Might & Power and Doriemus photo finish. The rain poured down back in ‘74 & Van Der Hum brought it home.

And then maybe there was Bart. JB Cummings. The Cups King. The man who has trained the Melbourne Cup victor a lazy 11 times. With horses such as Light Fingers, Galilee, Think Big (twice), Hyperno, Let’s Elope and Saintly successing for him in the past. In 2008 punters & bookies alike were praying Viewed could do it for the Cup Kings & make that dull 11 a decent dozen beyond the curtain and who would have though the soon to be 80 year old would truly accomplish it. Well finished Bart, you are truly the king of the Turf.

We will additionally not forget the hot water Luca Cumani & second place victor Bauer landed in after it was apparent the horse obtained shockwave treatment, not allowed in a period of seven days of the Melbourne Cup. The stir was remarkable, particularly after it was found an RVL selected veterinarian guided the therapy.
