There are multiple ways to drive traffic to your website. You can use pay per click, search engine optimization, email marketing, ezine advertising and many more.
One of the strategies that has been neglected in the past but is now taking more and more importance is how to build quality content and use it to get more traffic to your website.
If you have quality content, you can profit from that in several ways to increase your traffic.
Here are 4 ways:
(1) Use content to attract the search engines
Search engines love good content and if your site has it, you can profit from that to gain exposure in them. How? You just need to optimize your article with proper relevant keyword phrases related to your content.
(2) Submit content to article directories or article banks
Some websites are in constant need for your valuable content. By submitting your content in the form of articles to the article directories, you increase your chances in getting your articles published on other websites. Many people go to these websites to look for articles which they can reprint for free in exchange for a link back to the author’s website. With this marketing strategy, you will increase your traffic because your author bylines at the bottom of your article will generate clicks to your website url.
(3) Submit content to ezine editors related to your industry
Ezine editors are in constant need for information to publish in their newsletters. If you can produce quality content and submit to them on a regular basis, you will receive massive exposure. Imagine your content article is published on several ezines each with only 1,000 subscribers, that adds up fast. Now there are even some big publications with tens of thousands of subscribers. That’s definitely huge publicity at no cost.
(4) Use content to get repeat visitors
Without any doubt, content is king on the Internet. People go online to look for information and if your site has good content, you will get repeat visitors and people will stay much more longer on your site, building trust and increasing your sales potential.
To find content, here are some tips:
(1) You can hire someone to write an article for you for instance and pay a fee for each article.
(2) You can write your own content if you have the necessary skills.
(3) You can use other people’s content on the condition that you give them proper credit and a link back to their website. If you are submitting articles to article directories or ezine editors, of course this should be your own content that you have written or content that you have paid for to get.
There you have it. Use your own content or other people’s content to start driving more traffic to your website. It will pay off in the long run if you continue to build content.
This article can be freely published on a website as long as

Webmasters have so much information available to them on the Internet about how to increase traffic to their web sites, but how do you keep visitors on the site when they get there? If you happen to use the articles format in order to provide interesting content for your readers, have you considered what they do when they finish reading one of your articles?
Actions the reader will take, will include: navigating to another part of the web site (if you are lucky and have a well designed site); typing another web site address into their browser; and, closing down their browser and doing something else - perhaps resuming their work after a lunch break. If you are a webmaster, the first of these would obviously be your preferred outcome. But a reader who randomly navigates through your pages at speed, is not the ideal. How do you not only keep a reader on your site, but also keep them engaged with your articles and possibly the products you are offering, while they finish the second half of their lunchtime sandwich?
The answer is very simple really, but many webmasters do not use the strategy I am about to outline, when they place articles on their sites - the inter-linking strategy. What is it? It is simply the practice of linking one article on your web site to another related article and clearly signaling the link to your reader. People who write articles in different steps or parts use it already e.g. at the end of “Tips on How to Save Money - Part 1″ they will have a link to “Tips on How to Save Money - Part 2″. But there is no reason why we should not all be taking advantage of this simple but very effective strategy.
For example, you may have written a general article about dental floss (ok so you have a really tough job on your hands of keeping your reader onboard!). In order to ensure that your reader does not leave your site after reading the article, you could include at the end of it a once sentence paragraph that says “If you have ever wondered how they get the mint flavour into dental floss, click here for an article which explains all”. This is a much more powerful strategy than just having a long list of “other related articles” at the bottom of the page, which the reader may not even be able to see because they have not scrolled down far enough. Another benefit of this strategy is that with some clever and imaginative wording in that last one sentence paragraph, you can steer your reader towards a particular page, again possibly with information about a product that you wish to sell. As with all strategies, there is lots of room for experimentation to see what works best. As well as playing with words to come up with a sentence that will ignite your reader’s interest, you can try different formats for the text itself. For example, if the last paragraph looks just like the rest of the article, it will almost certainly be read and taken in by the reader.
Implementing this inter-linking strategy may take a little more time and thought, if you have previously only carpet-bombed your site with as many articles as possible. However, it is definitely another valuable tool for the webmaster’s toolbox, or weapon for his armory, depending on how fanatical you are about keeping visitors on your site as long as possible!

A recent survey by American Airlines and HP has shown that businessmen are extremely dependant on internet connectivity while they are travelling. In fact many people consider internet access to be the most important facility during travel.
90% of the survey respondents reported to having a laptop or phone at a hand’s distance at all times. 85% said that they utilized airport waiting areas for working. These businessmen were so addicted to their laptop that as many as 53% said that they can be found busy with their systems even on the flight. Sound like a familiar scenario? - then unlimited mobile broadband might be of some interest.
The internet bug has caught on very strongly with frequent travellers, replacing other more important requirements like food. About half of the respondents said that getting online was a higher priority than having access to basic amenities like food on a business tour. Hess-Nickels, director of marketing for HP’s notebook arm, said in response to these surprising findings that internet was no longer a luxury; instead, it had become a necessity and a critical aspect of our lifestyle.
Irrespective of the fact that working on flights is not very comfortable, the demand for in flight internet has drove many airlines to start providing this service. A study published by In-Stat, which is a reputed market research company, reveals that by the end of 2009, more than 800 planes will be equipped with mobile broadband service. This will, to a certain extent, fulfil the increasing need and expectation of 70% of the business population, who have been asking for this facility desperately.
